Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese martial art of self-defense developed early in the 20th century by O Sensei; Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969). Aikido Kyoto was founded in 2003 by Yoko Okamoto. Aikido Kyoto is affiliated with the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo. Presently Moriteru Ueshiba, grandson of the Founder, is the Aikido Doshu.
